New Website for TVS and other material

Postby Spike » 28 Sep 2015, 04:56

Hello everyone,
We have just changed the provider hosting the TVS web site and also took the opportunity to revamp much of the site.
It is still at the same address: http://www.tvsspecialtyproducts.com and, in addition to information about the TVS echo units, this site contains a wealth of information for those interested in vintage equipment and the music of Hank Marvin and The Shadows, including:

• Two new videos discussing which tunes were played on Stratocaster and Burns
guitars (with some examples of tunes played on both guitars), and when flat wound strings might have been used (again with some comparisons of tunes played with both).
• Details of the guitars, echo units and amplifiers used by Hank over the years.
• A series of four tutorials on how to get “That Sound”.
• A video demonstrating how Hank’s change in playing style has led to changes in his sound, using Apache as an example.
• A video that lets you hear the sound of the various echo units used by Hank.
• A juke box of most of the tunes of the Shadows from the early Stratocaster and Burns periods showing how close you can get to the original sound with current equipment.
• Videos of some of the most iconic Shadows tunes.

We hope you enjoy the site and would welcome any feedback.

Cheers
Spike

Hi Spike

Thanks for the information.

Hi Mike

The two new videos will be uploaded on Wednesday of this week.
Also the site may be down for the next two days as Telstra are sorting out some DNS Propagation problems.

Thanks for your feedback!

Hi Guys

Thanks for your feedback. The new site has finally been fixed for dns problems and one of the new links on "Strat or Burns" is now available for everyone on this site to see.
The other one will be on Strings and I will add to the website sometime tomorrow.

The information on the teaching videos and the two new links will be of interest to all Shads fans.

Also the new juke box is much better than the old one. We have put all the popular Shads tunes at the front and the rest are in kind of alpha order. I will try and fix the order a bit better in the near future

The site is now working well and I have added the two new videos that are really interesting for all to watch.

Either go to the main menu or go here
http://tvsspecialtyproducts.com/sound---video.html

The two files are at the top of TEACHING VIDEOS

Hope you enjoy!

Had a quick look Spike, looking good, although Farrar is spelt with an 'a', not Farrer with an 'e'. ;)

Not yet, like to do the reading first, but the site is bookmarked, so I'll get a look soon.
