Got a mail also and my units will arrive the day after tomorrow, apparently it takes a day to row to the other side of the pond ;)
So I got Friday on my mind.....this could be a nice title for a tune I reckon

Cheers Rob

Mine is here it is built like a tank best built pedal I have ever seen and used. Reallly solid and clear display. Could not be easier to use and I will get the gear out later and give it a whirl. Made in Great Britain is written all over this as far as build quality goes it reminds me of the era of fine British engineering and build. Well done Charlie and John worth the wait. :D

It arrived about half an hour ago and I have played Kon Tiki , Apache, Wonderful Land, Blue Star & Flingel Bunt as a tester and it is superb.

The immediate thing I noticed was an elusive tone without the echo that sometimes I have got close to but others not, but it's in there!
So it's a massive YES from me, congratulations to Charlie and John and the Derek and the team at Electromech, as Roger mentioned it's built like a brick s***house and it's BRITISH and we should be proud - the best yet by a country mile and at a sensible price. I'll post some stuff later for you to hear.

People will be wondering how it compares to the Etap & Zoom machines and I'm going to play around all day and find out, but I have never heard that tone in these other units that I described above and I think that there lies the answer. :)

I have plugged it in and tried it out for the first time and ran through a lot of popular tunes and listened to results. PERFECT !

The pre sets are all you need from first use, but I did try altering the Echo Drive level and echo levels on Wonderful Land mainly and got some nice colouration going on. Basically I found if you turn the drive up you need to turn the echo level down.

I tried it with and without EQ pedal and it sounds great either way with some bass cut already present in the unit. With EQ playing live it is Fabulous. Anyway Wonderful Land heaven is happening here ! Love it ! :)

I must admit that I feared Charlie had left it too late, what with th great success we've experienced with the two Zoom pedals and the eTap2hw, but he has nailed it with this one. I haven't yet compared it with the eTap, but the sounds are as good as I've heard and add to that the ease of use with the scrolling buttons, it's a great piece of kit for use on stage.
It does have that Meazzi pre-amp emulation that I hear and to some, that will matter a lot, to others perhaps not, but it matters to me. At the end of the day there is little in it to most people's ears but it's one of those, you pays your money and you makes your choice, I've made mine. :)

Paul G Shaw wrote:Hi Dave, could you post your H&C version of Apache along side your eTap?.....keeping everything else the same?...would be interesting to listen....Paul...

Hi Paul, that's what I have done, they are all there in my Soundcloud file so that comparisons can be made.
I have since gone through all the patches and tunes and this has blown me away, I can't put the bloody guitar down. :)

Paul G Shaw wrote:Thanks Dave...I've listened onyourr SF to Apache with the H&C and your earlier version with Etap.....the guitars sound quite different in tone and perhaps pickup?......if you used the same instrument with the same strings on the same pup then the H&C is infinitely better....
was everything the same except for the echo unit please?
Cheers, Paul...

I need to check myself whether it was the same guitar, but everything else was the same.
Today I used my G&L S-500 for Apache, treble pick up. I'll check my notes for the eTap recording, if I have no joy I'll re-record a version with eTap2 with the same settings to make a fresh comparison of the two. :)
