I'm on my own this week and able to get all my guitars out and do a bit of tinkering, I have the MK3 Boogie in for a bit of maintainence too, so the opportunity to make a bit of noise. Today I set up the eTap2hw via the SEND & RETURN on the Boogie and had a blast. I'd had the Zoom boxes linked up that way too so it wasn't something I hadn't tried.
To my disappointment the sound wasn't what I expected and didn't blow me away, as it had done with the other kit and when I first had it. Upon investigation I found that the DRY/WET, HEADS & FEEDBACK controls weren't performing as they were before the upgrade and have contacted Piet about it.
For the record I did set it up the usal way too with the same results. I just wondered if anyone else had a similar experience. :)

After some welcome help from Steve Mitchell I now have the eTap2hw up and running as it should be, there was a loose wire or bad connection that I found, possibly a bit of oxidation after being stood in my studio for two years while I was in and out of hospital. Anyway I hadn't noticed it until Ecca sent me the new SKRM which has been updated and improved with a bit of 'halo' or leaked feedback. After listening to Phil Kelly's great Meazzi demo he kindly told me the head settings he was using and luckily the very same setting is on the eTap2hw, programmed by Piet Verbruugen on the Meazzi model 'J' patch. I can't say that it's as good as Phil's, but I played along with his demo after getting the tone as close as possible and it is very similar, which for those of us who will never find one of those machines is a stroke of luck. If that is the core sound of the real 'wheel' model 'J'' Meazzi as used by Hank, then Piet must be congratulated for nailing it for all to use at a very reasonable cost. I now have all the echo machines that I will ever need, though I still have an order in for the H&C. It will be very interesting to compare the lot through my Vox AC30/4. :)
