1964 Vox ac30 filter capacitor?

Hi folks, anyone out there know the part number of the filter capacitor of the AC30 (1964) and if there is a replacement still available?. tnx in advance . Scott

Hi Ecca, maybe the correct name is a smoothing capacitor. It's that "can" one, I think it shows as 8uf 450vdc in the schematic I found on the internet, not sure what year the schematic was but I think I was for the sixties amplifiers. My amp started that motor-boating sound, so that's why I think its the capacitor. How are you coming along on your projects?, your sure doing wonders on them. In the meantime, have a great day. Scott

Lots of projects on...... recent developments from Piet regarding halo modifications to the SKRM module in the eTaps and the subsequent reprogramming required.
I've built a 2 valve preamp for the eTap using an EF86 and a 6N3.....
Not really started the Meazzi drum yet, got a lot of the parts but my workshop's been too cold.
Just finished yet another fretless guitar . I've had 3 but this one has a trem which puts more scope to its playing. I removed the frets from a cheap ebay rosewood neck and filled the slots with maple veneer which shows up great and is a an aid to accuracy when you're playing.
Built an eTap with a polished brass case that has become known as 'The Golden eTap', it looks lovely. It's Piet's original model that's had the halo mod and also the FETs tuned. It's a manual model.

Wow! Ecca, your doing great things enhancing the eTap unit. Hope we get a chance to hear a demo soon. Tnx for the help on that "cap" I ordered a couple right away. I had a couple in my junk drawer, but smaller values and would have to have doubled up ha ha. So I'll be happy when the correct value aŕrives. you probably know already but just in case, make sure the old cap is FULLY discharged before you attempt to remove or even touch it - it could prove fatal!
Smoothing caps, like all elcos in fact, remain fully charged for a long time after the amp has been switched off and isolated from the mains.
Only a freindly word of advice!
If you're clued up on amp circuits then obviously you know wht you're doing - if not get somebody who does know what the're doing to do it for you or we might end up losing a member.... !
