Well Noel, she is convinced 13 strats is an unlucky number....(actualy I've 13,5 strats a playable mini version a two tone slaboard with a tigerstriped neck).
So who am I to go against SWAHTBO? :D
20 years ago I wouldn't looked a second time to those metalic customcolors...but after 9x fred and many more solid and sunburst colors they are surly worth a second look....nowdays ;)

Cheers Rob

BTW you can't have to many guitars!

I was given a T-shirt with the words "I have too many guitars" across the front.
That is a matter of opinion!

And a limited editions two tone AC4 combo which sounded rank on arrival, so a changed the valves for Mullards. And now it sounds awesome...

Oh, and a really great hoody which has a great pic od a Strat with wings, and the legend "Never under estimate the power of a man with a Stratocaster"... ;)

Fantastic looking guitar, David. Good to see something other than Strat variations on here for a change!

Me too! Back in the days when they held an annual guitar show at various hotel venues in London around November, the Davies family used to go en masse. Was a great opportunity to drop not-so-subtle, Christmas present hints as we toured around the stalls. Was never rewarded with a guitar, but always some useful 'guitary' bits-and-pieces would appear on Christmas morning.
This year, I looked on with some envy as my eldest son generously gifted his sibling with Fender Custom Shop branded, tweed covered leads and a tweed strap..........nothing similar for me from anyone though, hence instigating this thread to see how everyone else fared.

Our daughter, Sara, gave me some nice prezzies, including a pair of silver cuff-links in the surprisingly accurate shape of my 1972 Gibson SG Special. This was quite a coincidence – I've had this guitar for 41 years, but have rather neglected it of late. This Christmas, however, before Sara and her husband, Loz, came to visit, I had started playing it again and have come to realise what a great guitar is. Even without a trem, I am really enjoying playing the old instros on it and it's just like having had a new guitar for Christmas.

In case you are wondering, the cuff-link and guitar are not to scale - my shirts aren't THAT big!

Let`s wait see how many years will pass before your Cherry Sunburst`s top will fade to Lemon. My original standard CSB LP has faded, through its 55 years in existence, and now has the look just like Dave`s new one. Interestely, it has not slimmed down ! The weight is 4kg200g, which is very accurate to 8oz20lbs shown in picture 2 !

As a present from me to me :D Santa gave me a guitar. It was a new "Fender Stratocaster Powered By Roland", G-5 3TS. 22 fret 3-tone sunburst w. really thick rosewood fingerboard. Unusual feature for an ordinary assembly line guitar, ,the maple neck even has curls, stripes and birdseyes figures. This model , made in Mexico, is now marketed by Fender with a very nice retail pricedrop. https://rolandus.com/go/v-guitar/

Cheers, and a Happy New Year for everyone.

Made for me by my daughter Jennifer. Those of you who come to the Pipeline Convention will know Jen - she has been helping me with the rigging and derigging almost every year since 2001.

(The Santas are all playing musical instruments)
