I still have an old Coloursound tremolo pedal, I think they're worth a few bob to collectors these days.

Yes, I had a Coloursound Tremolo pedal as part of my old board, which I used from the '80s to the noughties

It was good, but cumbersome. When the Zoom G2 came along I found it could replace everything on the old board so I sold the pedals separately on eBay. The best price was for the Boss Vibrato pedal, which fetched several hundred pounds.

My pedal arrived and does all I need. Not sure what the more expensive ones can do extra or better. I really like the tremolo effect. I put it before the echo is that correct ?

Correct. This has been covered before but the general rule for the type of guitar playing favoured in this forum is:
Guitar - distortion (if used) - tremolo/chorus - echo (repeats) - reverb - volume pedal - amp

You can see it in practice on my old pedalboard above. The guitar plugged into the Overdrive. The chorus / vibrato / phaser / Y-triggered filter / tremolo were alternatives (used one at a time) and the signal then went off to the echo unit which was next to the amp.

Obviously this arrangement does not apply to 'heavy metal' setups where the aim is to have the amp provide distortion.

Glad that you liked the Boss unit, Bill. Didn't think that you'd be disappointed with it.
