Don't get tempted, Dave! You've already got far too many guitars........
Stephen.

I'd love one but I have PRS Custom 24 quilt top SE on order in Sapphire blue, should be at the store tomorrow or Saturday. The one other guitar I am buying i.e. saving up for is a Gibson ES5 Swithchmaster which I have always admired and they have been reissued. I did want an ES-175 until I saw the Switchmaster in the flesh . . . . That's it then ! 8-)

There was a new Gibson ES5 Switchmaster for sale at Guitar Village for £3999. I tormented myself over it for many months - I think it was in stock there for over year. Fortunately it has now been sold so the temptation has been taken away. As Gibson seem to have dramatically increased their prices on arch tops recently I doubt I will be tempted again!! Their L5s are now in the £8000 - £9000 band! Bit much for a pensioner.

Classic Vibe series guitars, very good value for their money. I do have several models of these, however no need to purchase this. Fender issued 2004 an affordable 50th Anniversary Stratocaster, made in Mexico which I have. Similar Aztec Gold paint finish, then featured with an golden anod.metal pickguard.

Yes Dave....another victim, I`ve been hooked to the Gibson ES-5 model ever since that I heard the dry T-Bone Walker guitar sound/tone heard on his early fifties records. Several years ago I was lucky enough to fulfill my goal, to own a real blond 1953 ES-5 with P-90 pickups. Mine , with that nasal sound, is just 23 numbers apart from this guitars serial number http://www.archtop.com/ac_53ES5.html

Cheers Pol

That's a beautiful instrument but slightly different to the one I want, which is the one that Brian posted. :)

Thanks to everyone who replied to this, much appreciated :P .
I agree with everyone about buying it from a store. I've never brought any of my guitars from the internet, i like to have a go on them 1st. However i have brought a couple of cheap acoustics and a cheap squier telecaster, from Argos and all have been fine. The any thing i have found, is that some stores do not always have the 1 i'd like to try before buying in stock, and seem to try and badger you into buying something similar.
I brought my Squier strat from '1 way music' in Wolverhampton in the early 2000's, they do a deal where any guitar purchased over £200, gets lifetime free set-ups as long as you own the guitar. I've took it in a number of times for this free full set-up service which has probably paid for the guitar in itself. So definitely advantages if you can find a good local dealer.
Cheers
