Marvin New unfinished body and neck

Anyone looking for a project there is a Marvin Body/neck new but unfinished on eBay at the moment

This looks nice, but i bet it would be quite expensive to get all the extra bits needed to complete it. It doesn't look like any of the hardware is included from this picture here.
I have a Burns Marvin Shadows Custom edition guitar and the toggle switch plastic cap was very loose and kept coming off whilst in use. In the end i had to lightly glue it on using a airfix type model glue, which will not melt the plastic as i was frightened of losing it. Does anyone know where i could get the exact toggle switch plastic cap from if ever i did need a replacement? Has anyone else had a similar problem as this?

If I bought it I would spray it and use it as an alternative colour body. Not difficult to change the hardware over.
Is the body the same size as a Double Six and would a 12 string neck fit that body ? I would like to make a Double Six with tremolo.

AFAIK the original DS was bigger - I've been told it had the Jazz bass body. However the Marvin body will do for a DS. At one point I had my original Marvin converted to a DS using a Warmoth custom neck and a custom fixed bridge (no permanent mods to the Marvin). It played really well. Later I put the 12 string neck on a Jazz body instead.

I have the Club DS. Will the components on that fit onto the Marvin body. I would like to make a Fiesta Red DS with tortoiseshell plastic bits. Could then fit tremolo .

The pickguards for the Marvin cost £160 when I recently asked Barry Gibson. It isn't something that he carries as they are made in China and come to this country fitted to guitars.

I can cut the pickguard myself and do the paintwork so apart from the tremolo I could do it from the parts on my club providing they all fit. Do Burns sell the 12 string tremolo unit ?I suppose I could cut a plate similar to the original DS !

A suitable vibrato unit will cost an arm, leg plus possibly a few additional limbs, and you'll simply end up with a 12-string guitar equipped with a six-saddle bridge - a compromise combination guaranteed to cause tuning problems. This is why the modern Burns Double Six employs the Gotoh-made, 12-saddle bridge/tailpiece, which, while certainly looking far from authentically vintage, neatly eliminates the original instrument's wayward intonation woes.

Thanks Paul. Probably easier to pick up a cheap Club DS paint scratchplate no tremolo. I have not seen the 12 string Apache. Does that have a 12 saddle bridge ?
