This unit has been popping up on eBay for several months now with no takers, despite the opening price being reduced from, I think, £2500.

I wonder what the asking price would be without the Hank connection?

Cheers.

It started off many months ago at £4,000 and has been reduced to £2,000, where it's been for some time now.

It is probably a good piece, but it doesn't have the facility to give the echo patterns we need unfortunately. You are paying for the fact that Hank used it - but he didn't want it . . . . . . .

It was also used during the Cliff & Shadows Palladium reunion, and I'm sure that John Frieson's description, is accurate.

I believe it's genuine, but I can think of better things to spend two grand on. :)

Agreed, I think the Hank association is what they hoped would sell it, but it still struggles.

Dead right Dave.....I had one of these years ago....they were the last models that Binson made before they closed down...
All tranny and nothing special really....these days they are a load of potential and expensive trouble.
I still have the big 6 knob valve model but it seems to have a developed a noise to signal ratio rendering it useless and I'm not prepared to spend the money to get it fixed.....

I have the Catalinbread pedal version of the Binson Echorec and it sounds superb. Whether or not it is completely accurate to the sound of the real machine I can't be certain, but it sounds damn good. For £180 I consider it a bargain. :)
