I'm thinking of purchasing Charlie Hall's new echo unit - but am concerned that it is apparently not designed for a send return loop, which I currently have to use with my Zoom RFX 2000 and Session 'Stockton' Amp ( a version of the Acetone I think). I do this in order to avoid too much white noise from the amp if using a direct guitar-tuner-volume pedal-Zoom-amp line.
I asked the question on Charlie's site ages ago but am not nearly technical enough to understand the answer! Can anyone advise on this? Please keep any comments nice and simple!
Many thanks
Mike

When I spoke to Charlie this week about the Hall & Collins unit, he told me several useful things about it, one being that it wasn't really suited to use with SEND & RETURNS because it had been purposely designed to accept a guitar lead in and go out to an amplifier the old fashioned way, as well as that it isn't stereo. It's a machine that is dedicated to simple changing of patches using your feet. You can put the patches in the order you require them on the 'user bank' and they are instantly editable with five on board knobs.

I suppose a better question is 'why was there white noise on my current set up' i.e Mexican 'Hank' Strat (unmodified except for 11's and extra spring) into TU-2 chromatic tuner - into Morley volume pedal - into the Stockton. Any ideas Dave/anyone?

You could try the tuner and the volume pedal separately to find out if only one of those is a mis-match with the Send & Return.
