There is now an AC4 combo with a 12" speaker, the AC4C1-12 : http://www.voxamps.com/ac4c1-12

I've seen it Didier but it really is unnecessary for home and bedroom players, the ten inch sppeaker works absolutely fine. The quality Vox tone is there in spades, the rest is down to the player. :)

Got my eye on an AC4 in the near future, they got a new TV front two tone like the early AC15 cabinets if you know what I mean. About £270 or less when they release in Mid Oct

I want to try my AC4 tv 1x10 with an additional Vox cabinet thus giving me a 10" and 12" speaker. The speaker from the Tv10 cuts out when I plug in the 12" cabinet. The output from the amp is 16 ohm the speaker for both 10" & 12" is 16 ohm. Is there a way I can wire things up to use both speakers . Any help gladly received

This could be done by modifying the ouptut wiring to have the two speakers in parallel, giving a 8 ohm resulting impedance, but this would require a 8 ohm connection on the output transformer, not sure it's the case. On a valve amp, using 8 ohm load on a 16 ohm output might damage the output transformer.
Anyhow, with a 4W amp, there is very little to be gained using two speakers.

An 8 ohm speaker will work with the AC4 (the output tx is very robust)
It is a very popular "mod" in the US with seemingly endless forum pages about how the AC4 should really be supplied with a 8 ohm speaker because it works so much better
I have tried it myself & yes it does work, is it worth it for "sound" quality ............yes it is a noticeable difference, also it is a more convenient speaker impedance to suit the wider choice available.

In any case get rid of that horrible resistive attenuator that comes as standard first before changing speakers around. Either bypass it ( 2min job) or replace it with a vvr system, aka power scaling.

So are you saying Dick, that you can take out the 16ohm speaker and replace with an 8ohm without causing eventual damage to the amp ? :)

In a word Dave.....YES.

A very slight chance of damage perhaps if the amp is run constantly "flat out" for hugely extended periods.
But I have not heard of anyone damaging their AC4 by using 8 ohm speakers

Do not use the switched "power control" if fitted as the resistors it uses are low spec to begin with & the extra power that would pass through it at say 1/4 setting would overheat them more than they do normally. It's useless anyway & should not be used without modification in any case.
