Squier Jaguar

Postby Billyboygretsch » 30 Jun 2014, 18:34

I have never played or owned Jaguar not even the car ! So I bought a Squier Jaguar - Surf Green with tortoiseshell pickguard, Mustang bridge, fender locking tremolo. Strings a bit heavy for me but first impressions are very favourable. Trying it through my Eccamatic with two Gretsch amps. Sounds a bit Gretchy when playing Rebel Rouser and Riders in the Sky. Anyone else experienced a similar guitar

It's a lovely guitar.

I know that several of us here have bought it, in various finishes.

Mine is white with tortoiseshell.

What a cool color, BillyBoy. l imagine Jaguars in white and those period colors. Although the Ventures never used them, that should be great for early Bob Bogle pieces. Probably with heavy tapewounds.

That's a very cool looking guitar, congrats.
It's gotta be great for knocking out some surf tunes.

That model has a lot of fans.

It's only the short scale that puts me off getting one.
I prefer the Jazzmaster.
