I've just aquired an etap2hw from one of the members that was built by LEG with the "automation" as developed by Lars Goran Karlsson in Sweden.

Excellent build quality inside & out, with adjustments possible over a range of 0-255 per "pot" & the facility for 145 patches to be saved, nice "blue"screen 8-)

Crying out for a valve pre-amp here.........just the project I need to keep me going as my health improves.

Interesting to say the least

Dick.

Yep, that's neat.
I'm working on a single valve preamp PCB.
I might go for an ECC83 instead of the GE valve.....

ECC83 seems the obvious choice doesn't it 8-)

I would look at the 5751 version as well around 25% lower gain than standard '83.

I'm thinking of nicking the pre-amp cct from a amp or maybe even the first gain stage from a Meazzi.

I'll need a matching box for the this or I might have a go at my "original" etap2 & try out the pre amps in there first, got a metal box with enough room in it from RS a while back.

I'm having these PCBs made at OSH at the moment.
It's a prototype . It's one channel only because had I combined 2 channels the bill doubles at OSH and you get 3 boards anyway.
Also it makes it flexible, the board can be rotated, with the single pot mounted at the front so that the valve lies sideways or at an angle with a good chance of getting it in a single, 1U 19" enclosure.

That's for the GE valve , as is.
I shall probably make boards for the ECC83 and EF86 and see what happens.

Don't forget me, ecca! I'm first in line when you've completed and tested it all. ;)
