Best Squier Strat

I bought a Classic Vibe body (Fiesta Red of course) a couple of years ago while in the US. I added a Fender Classic Series maple neck and a Fender MIM Standard trem with steel block. With 57/62 pickups installed, it is a very playable instrument with a most pleasing tone. When changing out a trem, you need to make sure the replacement has 2-1/16" mounting spacing - not the vintage 2-3/16" or 2-7/32" spacing.

This ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFZZ4rsGuvs ) is MY best sounding SQUIER Strat ( for Shadows stuff ) ! A lot of people say that it sounds amazing
for a guitar in the pricerange of € 460.- ( incl. shipping from Germany & gigbag ) without any dings and dongs and without any modification - orig. stock PU !
An old friend of me gave back his Fender Custom Shop because of this reason !

PS: I own currently 4 Squiers ( all vintage guitars ) - they are sounding very different in comparison, but IMHO very good. They are on par with a lot of Fenders I owned and heard !

I have a USA Fender Std Strat 1979 (bought new), a USA Fender Std Strat 2012 (bought new), and a Squier 'Simon Neil 2011 (bought new). All in immaculate condition.

Of the three, the Squier 'Simon Neil' is the most comfortable to play and is an amazing guitar. It is the one I play the most out of the three. After purchase I replaced the light alloy tremolo block (which I knew about prior to purchase) with a cold rolled steel one, and replaced the strings (9's) with D'Addario 10 - 46's. The stock pickups sound superb. At £300.00 for the guitar plus £25.00 for the block it does not make this guitar a lot of money. It sounds and plays as good as the best I've heard. Great buy.

I went one better, if you please. I bought, some 2.5 years back a Mexican Fender Stratocaster, supposedly in Fiesta Red. After a short while I didn't really like it. Got a call from my local Music Shop stating they had had a Japanese Fiesta red Stratocaster in to resell (second hand) would i be interested as he knew I was a Shadows man.

I said I would be down on the Saturday, arrived, played it for about 15-20 minutes and agreed to swap it. I paid £410 for the Mexican and got a Japanese MIJ in REAL Fiesta (pinkie) Red with Maple neck worth about £750 (and sounded and handled a lot better than the Mexican) Plus looked the part also. Oh, I changed the chrome hardware for Fender All-Gold. Looks fantastic.

I call that a result! I also own a USA Custom Shop Stratocaster with noiseless pups in Fiesta Red.
