Bill,
I was also impressed with Ray's Alden.

I note on another thread you have recently acquired a Burns Vibra Artist Deluxe. Now that guitar is an interesting guitar:
- solid electric
- mahogany neck and body
- 23 3/8 scale (same as Gibson Byrdland)
- set neck
- either mk9 or moving cradle vibrato?
- 3 x trisonics + interesting electrics

I hope you will be able to let us all know what you think of it when it arrives.

It's still available, though you'd need to add shipping and duty/VAT:

Thanks Jim but just spent on the V/A deluxe and will have to wait for another. Kept saying I was going to stop buying more guitars. Who am I kidding

Bill,
All stock - I've made no changes at all (always a sign of a good guitar). It was bought new in 2007 from Cranes in Cardiff. Two colours were on offer at that time - Fiesta Red and Black but, rather like early Burns guitars, there seem to have been minor variations depending on the dealer and the country of sale. Hence the USA one that Jim spotted has chrome hardware rather than gold and there are variations which are fitted with a Telecaster-type neck pickup.

As far as I know,, a Fiesta Red/gold hardware model has never been offered on ebay indicating that they are a) rare and b) too highly valued by their owners to be sold on.

Here's mine in action playing Telstar. In the background on drums is Clem Cattini of The Tornados.

Ray that's great I think the gold adds the finishing touch.
