Hi, I have just borrowed a 5mm arm from a friend to try, and it is too big. I think the makers of this guitar have made it even a more budget guitar.
Would fitting a new block require routing do you think or any mods?

Hi Rover,

A new block should not need any alterations al all, it will be a straight swap. The only problem is to make sure the thickness of the
body is about 43/44mm and not 40mm as it would prevent you fitting the trem cover if it was 40mm. My 50s CV is the thicker
body so yours should be the same. Personally I prefer to change the complete trem unit for the Wilson bridge as they have a push
in trem arm with a grub screw to adjust the tightness and for less than £30.00 delivered you have solved the problem for good.
Hope this helps. (PS I get mine from Axesrus who offer a very good service)

Hi Rover,

If John at Staytrem says you need the 5mm arm just ask him if he'll accept a return if it doesn't fit. I didn't even bother to measure my arm (Classic Vibe 50s) I just ordered whatever John recommended and it fitted perfectly.

The Classic Vibe is a great guitar but mine subsequently benefitted from a Wilkinson bridge and tremolo for £26.50 from Axesrus. It includes a steel block and makes a big improvement in the sustain. With enough PTFE I even managed to use the old Staytrem arm.

All the best

Hi, thanks for your help. The body is 43mm, so I think I will buy a new bridge assembly.
