Hank's Current Pick-ups

Postby abstamaria » 18 Apr 2013, 11:02

This has probably been covered elsewhere, but what pick-ups does Hank now use for his vintage (very early 1960s) sound? What did he use on the Final Reunion?

Many thanks,

Andy

I thought he used the CS 54s for the Cliff and Shadows Final ReUnion tour. Kinmans 54 impersonators were intended to be ready but were not available for the tour. Not sure what he currently uses on his strat for current times for vintage tones but he has of course been pre occupied with Gipsy Jazz. I have tried the Kinman 54 impersonators and they are very good vintage sounding PU's for the Shadows tones.

During the "Final Reunion" tour, Hank had his Strats fitted with Fender CS54 PUs, but he didn't care about getting back his early 60's vintage sound.
