I do indeed!! I had the use of one back in the 60s', it was a very good sounding, well made guitar. I wish that I owned one today.

I assume the bridge housing, as distinct from the ceramic saddle, is wood, although it looks too dark to be the standard rosewood. The bridges on some of the jumbo models of the early 1960s period (including the J160E) were just moulded black plastic (surprisingly, for guitars of that quality), but this particular instrument would appear to feature a wooden one.

HI

I remember the Shadows using guitars like that. They had two six strings and a twelve string. Hanks six string and the twelve, were stolen along with Hank's Burns Guitars and his Martin in 1972.

I have a later, mid 70's J45 - Dreadnought Shape- and the Bridge is wood on that.

Regards

Stuart

Are you testing me, Stuart? ;)

PS: Bruce told me that his J-45 was destroyed by airport baggage handlers, hence the swap to a Martin.

I already advised you that that info was incorrect and pointed you to post Shads clips on TV where Hank was playing his redburst acoustic. ;) From memory, it was Something and he swung his Greenburst Burns Marvin round to complete the tune.

Hi Jim

I wouldn't question you at all. I do know that Hanks Gibsons were stolen 6 and 12 strings with the others. I wasn't aware of Bruce's story but Hank told me that when the started MWF the Martin sound was what they wanted and they all got one. The clip of Something is obviously before the guitars were stolen as the Marvin Burns was also taken.
