I have never changed the valve and I still don't feel the need to as the amp still sounds great after over seven years of use.

I have never changed the valve and I still don't feel the need to as the amp still sounds great after over seven years of use.

Pre-amp valves such as the venerable ECC83 (12AX7) don't come under the cosh like power valves do.
I don't think I've ever changed a pre-amp valve in anything (except for when my AC30 was re-valved by Eric Snowball).
