Frying tonight

Is that flux I can smell or hair standing on end as you walk the green mile?

With Maplins having a run on multi-core solder here's a worthwhile project if you fancy ending it all, a nice juicy Classic British JTM45+ Tube Guitar Amp Kit - Combo. The PDFs are in the link URL. Don't forget the wet sponge and buy some rubber wellies when pluging in here..http://tubedepot.com/kit-british18wcombo.html

If you need your hand holding go to the tut below. I=E/R; E=IxR; R=E/I or it was when I was at school

Download the component PDF Eric. Source them locally and tinbash the chassis. Class 1 PAT tested and away you go. I wonder how many class 1 amps in use today have a current PAT certificate?

I'm sure you're more than capable Eric--carry on there's a good chap.

Cheapskates, you have to drill your own holes in the cabinet and chassis!!

Why can't Americans pronounce "SOLDER" properly - there's an "L" in it!! It's not Sodder!!
Tubes!!!! they're Valves as in "Thermionic Valves"!

I think my homebrew Pro Junior cost at least 100 quid last year!!

Why oh why have I started a thread on amplifiers and self build ones at that !!! I use software amps for God's sake.

I agree with Eric (he's been a 'good chap' lately) the Yank one is very expensive. Perhaps nearer home can offer up a kit build for you to wear your rubber wellies. Here's one for £175 and make your own cab which I know Amanda excels at belonging to a specialised site on the suject.

http://www.ampmaker.com/store/SE-5a-5W-British-overdrive-amplifier.html play the 'clean' channel MP3 example--sounds OK to me.

Bri (Not a good chap but a complete and utter cad of the first water). I'm now off to visit the Fatherland for a few days.

Solder yes.

Vacuum tubes, although they are also technically valves.

Keep up the good work with the Meazzi's. :)

With all due respect to our American members................I had to laugh at the video clip when he talked about SODDERING the wires.

Why not solder it properly? lol.

Pat.
