But re the trem, if you push it hard home you'll find it pushes down into a friction area which holds it in place, although it'll probably wear in time.

Hi Geoff,
I would be a little concerned that the Jaguar would be too near the sound of a Strat, whereas the Jazzmaster has it's own fatter tone. I have enough Strats, so to pull off a Ventures or a Hunters sound, I feel a Jazzmaster would be the prefered guitar. Also, the Jaguar is a 24" scale instrument. Still, each to his own, they are both great looking guitars & bargains, top boot. Maybe I'll get a sunburst JM soon. By the way, I am mainly the Rhythm player in my band, anyway.
