New Vox guitars hit the shops...

Abel and I saw these at NAMM in January... and they were available in two separate and subtly different shades of Fiesta Red...

Yes - saw it, Paul.

I can't help thinking that Korg have missed an opportunity here. Those guitars actually play very well (I managed to get my hands on several guitar and bass versions). A conventionally-equipped version at about £225 - £250 would, in my opinion, have been a worthwhile proposition. More so than those other guitars they're trying to sell... :(

I quite agree Jim, keeping things much simpler would be better and stand more chance of commercial success. Korg seem to be trying too hard with these self-contained solids and catering for a market that doesn't really exist.

Just too bad its doesn't have an integrated echo box, and solar cells for power supply ! ;)
It sells for 300 € here.

Prompted by this topic, I just checked YouTube for demos and found two Japanese ones which, frankly, do the guitar no favours whatsoever.

In the first, the guy just talks and fiddles with the switches, making you want to scream at him to please just shut up and play the guitar! It's a two and a half minute demo with no actual demo of the guitar!

In the second, another guy DOES play the guitar and, well...

They say there is no such thing as bad publicity, but VOX might not agree here!
