Not tried, but from the spec it can't do simultaneous varying times between repeats to give the Shads type sounds as on Apache, Wonderful Land et al...

Llke most echo pedals, this is a single echo unit, so no possibilities to emulate the complex multi echoes as used by Hank Marvin with the Meazzi in the early years.

Buy a Line6 M13 and you can easily create a Meazzi style four or six head tape or Binson style echo unit with echoes timed to the millisecond then switch between them with your feet... You just need the timings, some patience, and a degree of :D tap dancing ability... :D

But will the Pod allow you to time four separate heads to the millisecond? You do this on the M13 four different echo pedals in series...

Hi All,
Am I right in thinking that it not so much the echo's i.e the correct spacing & timings but most importantly of all the sound of the pre-amp stage of the of the Miazzi? which none of the above units are able to give? in fact, is it not impossible to be able to reproduce 'That Sound' without valves. Even Hank say's in his Guitarist interview that basically he only got 'That Sound' from the Miazzi & not the Binson & others which gave a different sound.
Personally I believe the above to be true but I live in hopes that I be proved wrong with any upcoming custom builds.

These are my inclinations too Jono, listen to Spring is nearly here, how distorted is the echo.
It only wants the volume control on the Vox up a bit and the level on the Meazzi changed and you have a different tone completely.

I believe so David the user manuals are online but certainly do around 8 effects at a time depending on model.

I thought the same too Jono, until I had a Meazzi... Which had been the property of Roberto Pistolesi - who knew a thing or two... It certainly wasn't the preamp... A great unit but NOT the source of that sound in my view. You can read my conclusions in the How to Get That Sound thread right at the beginning...

Since then I sold my old Vox, complete with Roger A's excellent Vintage unit and missed it... So how to get the sound back?
On Robbo's recommendation I bought a Fender SuperChamp XD and on the Champ setting it's almost there. So I stuck a passive Charlie Hall Cutting Edge pedal in front and that's pretty convincing, though the level drops. Then, I spotted a Gemini iii in our local Cash Converters and got it for £25... This active pedal clearly emulates the tone networks of the original early Vox amps in two flavours... By the sound of it very early AC15 and later AC15 and 30... And the sound is there with no signal loss. Now this was using an amp with 6L6 tubes and I also tested both through another amp with 6V6 tubes with similar results...

And even more recently, I bought a Vox AC15 Heritage Handwired second hand... And there you have all the sounds in one amp in spades... Just glorious ...

And Robbo is selling one for £650? That's a a steal to get all the authentic Shads sound in one box... And a third of the price of a Meazzi, or an old AC 30

It really isn't the Meazzi preamp...
