Fiesta Red some help perhaps........

Postby alanbakewell » 10 Jun 2012, 17:15

It's been a good twenty minutes since the subject of Fiesta Red was bought up so I thought I'd enlighten folks with this.

I seem to remember someone asking if there was a formulation for Fiesta Red available for the purpose of repairing / restoring
or respraying a guitar. Naturally it would need to be THE Fiesta Red.

Since pretty much everyone is agreed that the original Fiesta Red went out with the idea that marriage should come before children,
I hope this information will help folks looking for this colour.

I remembered a colour being formulated for the Ford Motor Company around 2007. This colour has been available for a while now under the
name of Sunrise Red.

Whilst I'll be the first to say that photographs are not a reliable aid to colour matching, at least this will give you an idea of how close
Sunrise is to the version of Fiesta Red on my Stratocaster. Indeed, it's "pinker" hue might be more pleasing to some. :D

Any Decent sized Ford dealer or reasonable automotive paint stockist should be able to mix this colour for you should you require. Indeed they should have
a colour chip to give you an idea of the colour. ( Colour chips are only a guide ).

Hope this helps someone.

Cheers, Alan.

Thanks Alan - this confirms my opinion that Sunrise (I've seen a lot of new KAs in this colour) is a good match for Fiesta Red.

I wonder if they've deliberately reintroduced a shade that was last used on Thunderbirds in 1955, or whether it's just a coinkidunk?

No doubt fine for a complete respray but more chance of seeing the Queen in a conga line than it matching anything existing.

At that price you'd be bankrupt before the car was finished.

Alan,

V.E. DAY — On May 8, 1945, Elizabeth and her sister begged their father to let them join the throng outside celebrating victory over the Nazis. He relented and, accompanied by a few guards, the sisters mingled with the crowd, danced The Lambeth Walk (inspired by the musical, Me and My Girl), and joined a conga line at the Ritz Hotel — all, apparently, without being recognized.

Brilliant, thanks Bill. :D

I'll have to think of another one.

Cheers, Alan.

Probably not the case in UK/Europe etc at present, due to different seasons, but here in Australia, that colour red is very fashionable for women's clothing at the moment.

...perhaps the ladies could comment?

So in other words, all these years I've been looking at Fiesta Red Strats and they've actually been Fiesta Blue?

Right, next time I go to Shadows Club I'm taking the Sonic Blue one! If anyone says anything I'll be able to reply, "No, you're seeing it wrong, it is in fact Sonic Red."
