Video Clip about 1949 Telecaster Guitar

Postby donna plasky » 19 May 2012, 00:06

I don't know whether this video has been posted on this site before, but I came across it on YouTube and thought it was interesting. Starting at about the 2:00 mark, the man in the video displays a 1949 Telecaster prototype, in a colour he describes as Studebaker Red. The guy says it does not have a truss rod and he talks a lot about the pick-ups. I am posting it just in case anyone would enjoy the story.

Kind regards,
Donna

Thanks Donna, although I've seen that clip before...

What a pity he didn't plug it in, would have loved to have heard it...with proper HEAVY strings ecca (sorry!)

Thanks Donna, that colour looks awfully like the Salmon pink/Flamingo pink/Fiesta Red we know and love !!

Apart from the colour, my Squier Tele is currently similar looking to this guitar, with no scratchplate..

I kept getting a crackle from static off the scratchplate from touching it whilst playing...and the pickups amplify the noise...

I still love Teles though!
