Hank's strat for 2009~2010 tour.

Hi !

Anyone who knows about Hank's strat for this 50th Anniversery Reunion Tour ?

His tone is quite different from 2004~2005 Tour.

I know he uses JMI Amps.

And, He doesn't use Kinman pick ups.

But,I wonder what kind of strat he uses for this tour.

Would you give me any information ? Please.

Hi Eugene..I think its the same 2 strats he used on 2004 tour...1 strung with 12s and maybe 11s on the other..He changed pickups to cs 54s and probably has them wired similar to kinmans (k9).He s using tvs3 echo as opposed to Q20s also.....hope this helps...gary

It might not make a huge difference to his overall sound, but another contrast with the 2004/05 tour is that Hank is using a wound third on his number two Strat.

I doubt anything would have changed from the UK tour, George. I bet Bruce is using 34346, his Oasis Strat, both the Strat and the acoustic that Mick made him and his Martin acoustic.

I didn't know about Kinman K9 pickups at all.

Anyway, I feel Hank's sound has been much brighter before.

And think it is very good to use a third wound string.
