Bird's eye maple neck WANTED

Hi all...

I need to build a Hank/Shads specification guitar. I have most of the parts already, but I'm looking for a 22-fret bird's eye maple neck.

It preferably needs to be built to the modern Hank Marvin spec, either with gold Sperzel tuners or at least the 10mm holes that Sperzels require.

Can anyone help, or at least point me in the right direction?

Hi Justin

I sent, or thought I'd sent, you a PM this morning but I'm not sure if you received it because I can't find any trace of it.

Please let me know if you got it.

Cheers.

Tony

Hi Justin. How about Musikraft in the America. The can supply any neck and are licensed by Fender.

Hi Justin,

Warmoth is definitely the way to go. You can buy from their existing stock:
https://www.warmoth.com/Pages/ClassicSh ... =Spotlight

or specify your own build:
https://www.warmoth.com/pages/CustomNeck.aspx

Expect to pay another 33% for all import costs.

Regards,
DaveC.

I was going to suggest Alan Brason who made a lovely 22 fret one for my 1997 Fender Japan Hank Strat but I believe he has retired. I can't find any contact information for him. If you can find him he may be able to recommend someone.

I contacted Alan about neck three years ago and he was unable to help. I’m sure he’s retired.

I'm happy to say this site has once again delivered. Not only have I found a cracking bird's eye neck but I've made some great contacts and have had some very enjoyable conversations.

My ideal scenario was for someone to read my OP and get in touch saying they had a Warmoth or Alan Brason neck spare... and that's exactly what happened. I'm now the proud owner of a stunning example of Mr Brason's work. I have long been aware of his necks and of the quality of the wood he was able to source (I remember hearing at least a couple of years ago that he'd indeed retired). I'll be using the neck on my gigs at the end of the week. It will be well used and well loved.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.
