Roberto Pistolisi - still sadly missed

Postby dave robinson » 23 May 2013, 11:59

It's seven years this week since the passing of dear Roberto - a dear friend still sadly missed by many.

Agreed Dave, I never had the opportunity to meet him but I have his book 'That Sound' and his knowledge of The Shadows/recording/guitars/amps/echoes etc made for great reading.

I would have wanted to meet him. He seemed so enthusiastic and passionate about this little thing we are still chasing - that sound.

Coincidentally, the person who put him in touch with Malcolm Addey is a friend of mine who left Manila to immigrate to the U.S. many years ago. I think Roberto stayed at his place in New York when he went to see Malcolm. Anyway, he had only good things to say about Roberto,

I have not forgotten him. I met him twice, and translated his presentation about "that sound" in Rambouillet (France) a few weeks before he left us.
