THE BEACH BOYS ON LATER WITH JOOLS HOLLAND

Postby anniv 63 » 30 Sep 2012, 12:17

Having watched their appearance on this weeks show, something I.M.H.O.
was sadly lacking in performance terms of the tight vocal harmonisation
and instrumentation that they once had.
Brian Wilson seemed to be in a world of his own, and the other surviving
members looked uncomfortable and uninspired.
It didn't help with so many additional back up musicians and extra harmony
vocalists either , I just about lost count of the total band compliment!!!
Certainly not the sound they once excelled in as a small combo.

Missed it due to Richard Hawley gig, but my wife said exactly the same thing...

You pay for it. You might as well use it and get the benefit:

The Beach Boys probably don't mind what folks say about them, as long as they don't have to swap wage packets. I learned not to watch that programme anyway, it's renowned for being full of crap. :?

They put on a stunning show at the Albert Hall on Thursday. Two sets totalling 2hrs 50min and around 60 songs. Brilliant!
