To all Australians wherever they may be , Happy Australia Day (Tuesday 26 January)!

Australia Day is, of course, the day that we do actually have a public holiday and 'Celebrate the Nation' - not just 'chuck a lamb on the barbie'.. maybe we aren't as outwardly 'patriotic' as some countries, but I can tell you with the utmost confidence national pride is 'inbred'.

Anyway, enough of the serious stuff.......

I don't think we should be LAMBasted, about an alleged LAMentable habit of not eating Lamb on Australia Day. Do Australians eat Fish and Chips on St Georges Day? Or is it just a LAMpoon?

Paulps,

Aha, you have hit on the right subject! Being born in Kogarah in the St George Shire in Sydney, and an avid sponsor and supporter of the mighty StGeorge 'Dragons' Rugby league team (look them up in the Guiness Book of Records for the most consecutive Premiership wins ever if you haven't heard of them) I most definitely eat Fish and Chips on all occasions connected with StGeorge! :)
