Downloading videos from youtube?

Postby bgohara » 12 Aug 2014, 22:45

Can anyone suggest how best to download videos from youtube to your PC? I used to use Zamzar - but I see you can no longer download using this from Youtube.

Would prefer a free programme - but if a programme has a nominal cost, then would consider that.

Thanks,

B

Bernie,

Just use Firefox for downloading videos. Even if it's not your preferred browser, just use it for grabbing YT and other material.

You'll need the free DownloadHelper add-on with Firefox.

I use a program (free download) called iLivid Down load Manager. You copy the url into iLivid and it will download into mp4 format. You can then get a program which will convert mp4 and burn to DVD, simples.

Applian Technologies sell a suite of low cost software to grab anything at all that is playing on the screen, and this also will convert it into other formats (eg iPod video) and split off the audio and convert that as well - great for rare music off Youtube

I have "Replay Media Catcher 5" from them (not free), it generally works when DownloadHelper can't in some cases...
