'Fraid so in my opinion.
I've listened to the entire month of rehearsals in January 1969. That is some serious yuck right there ! I will never get those days back. I could have been listening to Smile or Revolver or The Shadows instead. Even Pinky and Perky sing Mariah Carey's worst songs with Kenny G solos.
Yellow Submarine love Georges tunes (the much bootlegged 8 + minute Its All too Much is excellent) and Bulldog but the original lp only has 4 new tracks by the Fabulous Foursome. It's not really a beatles lp.
Let It Be has some moments but fewer than any other including Yellow Submarine ! and i hate long and winding road....
Abbey Road - best Wings album by a mile. maxwell followed by oh darling and then octopus - the worst run of songs on a beatle album. My favourite is I want you and The End. Sure there's some great bits elsewhere but it's slick and transistorised and John is not fully involved. So many people rave about the harmonies on Because saying how complex they are. Rubbish. Doesn't match This Boy or Yes It Is. Smile era Beach Boys is way more complex.
I could discuss this for hours but this is a Stones topic on a Shads board. seems disrespectful.
Beatles have been my fave band since i was 2 and a half and i'm 44 nearly 45 now. Still can't type properly.
Anyone else enjoy the Midnight Rambler from night 2 of the Stones ?
i still think it was pretty hot.
i'd just like to repeat how much i hate long and winding road.

Ok folks. This is spreading so far from the Shads that I'm going to move it to The Lounge now. See you there :)
