Well when the girls reach half a million hits or so then I'll take notice and yes the formulaic tunes are spot on, Apache sounds like Apache and that's the trouble. We gave up dressing like our dads in the 60's--same thing

Anyway, Zoe and her group are playing our type of music- so what if they don't carry on like crazies? They can play properly!

The fact that young people are interested and enthusiastic enough to want to play this stuff is terrific- I remember seeing Justin and his group - with that incredible young drummer lad - at Shadowmania in 2007, when I came over to the UK- good on them and all the other young folk with talent and good taste!

I saw Orianthi in Nottingham a couple of years ago when she was touring with Alice Cooper as his 3rd guitarist. Awesome!!! I bought her album, 'Believe', which is excellent! She is an extraordinary guitarist. I can also recommend Jennifer Batten, Lita Ford, Kelly Johnson, Michelle Meldrum and Tara Mcleod.

For my money, KITTIE are the most impressive all-girl rock (metal really) band at the moment. Mind you, they're about to celebrate their 20th anniversary!!! Not that well known, but I wouldn't like to come up against them in a battle of the bands contest!!! Love to meet them though

And who said the lounge was never used!!! I can remember when me and another bloke were seemingly the only members of Patrick Terrett's UB Hank Guitar Club years ago and you got a news sheet called Echo (I think, it's that far back) and you were instructed not to phone your orders before 7pm on pain of death.

Zoe had just been taken under his wing at that time and I can remember in that news sheet how Jet was being nursed back into the limelight by Patrick. 'The Rise of the Phoenix' was the banner blurb. Not many members as SCOFA was the site to belong to at the time. I've been around some time don't you know and only a few people have seen me in the same room with a residing guitar in all those years. A nasty rumour is that I can't play a note :D

B.

Remembered Laura's mother is French--rejoices in the name of Ophelia. ;)

Laura Cox rocks!! Sorry!

Yeah, that 'Nightrain' solo was good. I bought the G N R album Appetite for Destruction way back in about '88. Saw them live in about '93. I notice she's using a Gibson Goldtop (??), also favored by Tara Mcleod from Kittie - a real virtuoso player.

...but for one or two reasons I found it difficult to concentrate on the music. Not quite sure why...
