EAGLES DOCUMENTARY

Postby drakula63 » 14 Jun 2013, 12:44

Why is it, I wonder, that the BBC can show a documentary (in two parts) covering the Eagles which totals about three and a half hours and yet they can't show (or make) even a one hour documentary about the Shadows?

Yes, the Eagles ARE very popular, but are they really worthy of such an enormous slice of British television air-time? Surely the Shads would be far more worthy - especially given their chart presence and HUGE and undeniable influence on guitarists and groups all around the world. Yes, even in America!

I didn't see the documentary about the American Eagles, but at a guess, it was American-made (perhaps with a British accent narration overdub, like many USA-made programmes on the History Channel).

The cost of licensing such a programme for broadcast in the UK is an order of magnitude lower than the cost of making it in the first place.
