Charles Hardin Holley (September 7, 1936 – February 3, 1959) was known professionally as Buddy Holly.

I saw an article in my local newspaper today about Buddy Holly...and I realised that today is his birthday. Mr. Holly, we owe a huge debt to you. Not only was your music very special, but you inspired future generations of rock and roll musicians...in particular Mr Hank Marvin and Mr Bruce Welch, O.B.E. Thank you.
