French composer Francis Lai just died, aged 86. He composed many film musics, including "Bilitis" which was recorded by the Shadows for their "Reflection" album (1990).

R.I.P. Francis Lai...
...a wonderful composer with a distinctively "French" style of composition, often characterised by harmonic development around the cycle of fifths (or, going back the other way, around the cycle of fourths). His film theme A Man And A Woman is a good example.
Note to Hank (if he ever sees this site): A Man And A Woman would be a great gypsy jazz guitar number.
