Hi to you all

After a short break I am now back gigging solo ( playing in small venues ) to backing tracks ( Shads ) question

Has anybody used the ZT Lunchbox (200 watt amp )as I am in need of a small powerful amp that will fit in the boot of a new Fiat 500 ! (also ok for a bad back) for the guitar signal .

The backing tracks go into the Compact 60 AER amp ( also used for the nylon string Yamaha NTX 1200 ) this has a great sound but not for a electric guitar signal . I have also tried the Two Rock 22 great amp but £ 2,000 !

If you can find one try a Fender G-Dec 3 all of your backing tracks on an SD card and your effects stored patch by patch to each tune, it has a line out which you can connect to your other amp, or a PA.

It works very well and it's exactly what me and my guitar playing pal use them for, he also has one, which he just uses as a normal amp but has the tracks there in case of breakdown on my amp.

Whilst I can't help with the question of that particular amp, perhaps my own experience on cutting down kit without losing quality might be useful.

Not all that long a go I was carrying around enough gear to fill the back of a Freelander, just to go out playing to BTs.

I now also drive the new Fiat 500 (great car, but this is not the place to discuss that!) and have cut down on kit to the extent that I can get everything in with the back seats down, including up to four guitars.

What I used to carry:

6 unit rack case containing Quad GT for EFTP, USB/SD player for BTs, Line 6 Pod X3 Pro for amp and effects modelling, Line 6 digital guitar wireless system.
50W Power Amp (AC30 size and weight).
Peavey Escort PA system
Fender 100W Powerstage foldback/monitor
Guitars and peripherals.

I now carry:

3 unit rack case containing Quad GT for EFTP and iPad (housed in Alesis i O Dock) on pull-out sliding rack shelf, Line 6 digital guitar wireless system.
Bose L1 Compact Line Array System.
Guitars and peripherals.

On the iPad I have the JamUp Pro app which not only provides brilliant amp and effects modelling for the guitars but also plays the BTs. The Bose system, which handles guitars and Bts is amazingly portable and quality and volume are excellent for most venues (I've never had it wound up anywhere near flat out).

I now have a system that is equal in quality to anything I have had before, takes a fraction of the time to set up and which I can easily carry without risking a hernia. I could even cut out the Quad and use the excellent multi tap echoes in JamUp, but it's nice to have the EFTP for the Shads' stuff, isn't it?
