Hi All , On a original 62(not re-issue) would the cover be 1 or 3 ply ?

Hi Keith
As I'm sure you know, the pickguards were changed from single to 3 ply in mid 1959. However, according to Duchossoir, as a rule the backplate remained single ply until the mid 70s. My CS 60 NOS, which I assume is pretty authentic, has a single ply backplate.
I see from your other post elsewhere that you're looking for a Fender case and an ashtray bridge cover. Are you building a 62 replica?
Cheers.
Tony

Hi Keith.
Tony is correct. Single ply.

Until 1976, when they were changed to black/white/black to match the new scratchplates, Strat backplates were all single-ply white.
Yes, even the ones with tortoiseshell scratchplates. Don't know about the anodised ones though!
