Hi All,

Anyone got any idea as to what the pickup height for Fender CS Fat-50's is please? They are the new standard on the 2012 Standard Stratocaster. The pickups have a vintage staggered magnet arrangement and have slightly greater inductance tha standard ones.

Hi hope this helps :)

Fender recommends that vintage style pickups Fat 50s, etc should be adjusted as follows set each pickup with 2.4mm between the pole piece and the bass strings and 2mm between the pole piece and the treble strings

Measure the height by holding down the strings on the very last fret . Then you can ,once set fine tune each pickup height to obtain a even volume balance between each pickup .

Hi 51 Relic,

Thanks for that. That's about the same as the Fender support guy recommends 6/64 & 5/64. My strings are D'Addario 10-46's with plain 3rd. The reason for asking was that I seem to have a bigger volume on the 'G' string. I currently have the pickups backed off to 8/64 & 6/64 which helps. I have also purchased a wound 'G' string (not arrived yet) as I thought that it might help due to the Fat-50's pickups having a very high magnet under the 'G' string.
