VOX AC30 - JMI 30/6

Hi guys,

I'm really interested in buying a VOX AC30 but it must be top spec, with the blue Celestion speakers (VOX AC30CC2X). I'm not too keen on buying one second hand as I'd like one in perfect condition, but a very good condition second hand British one would be nice!

However, I'd like to know which one you think suits the Hank Marvin sound the most. I've recently discovered that JMI have begun trading again, but they can be a bit pricey. Shame, I would have liked a British one as the AC30's now are made somewhere in Asia I believe.

Anyway, give me your opinion on what amp's the best bet, from brand new or second hand.

Cheers,
Robson ;)

I would say a top boosted unit like the above will do but optionally a ef86 channel for the very early tunes and these can be bought and added. Better still if you can get a AC30 Heritage second hand they have top boost and ef86 channels (Ihave one) or an old AC30/6

The top boost channel with bass and treble both min will be close to a ef86 sound though.

JMI do great amps at a price expect to pay around £2000 upwards.
