VOX AD60 - Valvetronix

Hey guys,

I recently acquired this VOX AD60 VT, which sounds brilliant by the way, but I'm saving for a VOX AC30 now as you cannot possibly beat it with any other Vox model! Now, trying to track another down to find a price is becoming a headache but have found out that this is a very rare Vox Amplifier. It was built in the early 00's. It turned heads when it was released because of the blue cloth as opposed to the traditional brown. Anybody got an idea of value on this lovely sounding amplifier?

Here's a picture of the Amp. This has one 12" Celestion speaker.

I trialled one of these when they first came out with LEGEND. I agree the sound is ver good but it couldn't produce clean sounds at gig volumes, seemingly aimed at players using gain and distortion. Not a collector's piece I'm afraid.

I have the same amp, I payed £140 for it on EBay two years ago - I think they were around four to five hundred quid new back in 2001. I had the 120watt twin speaker version @ £650 at the time, but sold it on and ended up with a Vox AC30. The VT60 isn't a collectors piece, but it works well and Danny Martin and I use it between us as a back up, or in the pub where space is tight.

I have the AD60VTX with Neodog speaker and its 60 watt setting can be too loud if I increase volume too much, so I frequently use it on its 30W setting instead when playing in our club band sessions. No distortion or other such issues and is virtually indistinguishable from our club AC30 in terms of tone and punch. In a blind test folk weren't able to tell which was which. Very nice AC15 or AC30 tones can easily be set.
I know this has a tad more oomph than the previous AD60VT model (which I've also owned), but it should still cope quite easily for normal gigging usage - especially on its 60W setting.
