Do you mean one of these ? If so the answer is yes, I have one and it sounds and plays like the best of them.http://www.reidys.com/images/products.l ... thdch.jpeg

Yes it is, but I have the 50's tribute from January 2011 and it looks the same to me, maybe the neck profile is different though. Mine has the P-90 pickups but there are studio models with humbuckers - it's your choice.
The main difference between the models costing £1200 upwards and these is the finish only. Neck and body binding and thicker, polished lacquer etc all costs more to produce and is reflected in the price. These guitars are basic but with the same electrics and mechanics. Great value and for me a keeper.

I just saw these very models today at a city dealer here in Adelaide, South Australia- where they have a sale on- the SG and Les Paul models (the latter with either P90s or humbuckers)- they were all around the same price, about $AUS 995...about 650 quid Sterling..some are cheaper again on line too I see...
I've not seen USA built Gibsons at those sort of prices in recent years..very good value, and they play and sound very good....but still out of my reach money wise unfortunately!
Conversely, the new USA Fenders seem to getting more expensive...??
