You need:

a) http://www.zoom.co.jp/downloads/rfx2000/software/ tool that you have to install on to your PC / Laptop

b) a midi interface ( good when working with USB ) / Midi cables / http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/MIDISPORT2x2.html ( I have one .......... not for sale )

You have to install the software and to connect your PC / Laptop with the right midi cables to your midi interface.
Now you can edit all the parameters of your unit and you can also load the J patches / EFTP patches into the RFX 2000.
You can mix up J & EFTP patches !

Hope it works as it did by me !

PS: I was told that a few midi interfaces doesn`t work without any problems. The MidiSport 2x2 worked fine !

Thanks Hans, but I already downloaded the software to my PC and I already downloaded the J-Patches to my PC . . . and I have the midi cables . . .

What I need to know is how to install the J-patches into the RFX . . . what commands should I use . . where and how do I save the new patches, can I rename the patches into the actual songs . . . how can I chnage certain parameters . . . I need specific instructions . . .

Sorry, where is the problem?

a) you must have a working midi connection to the PC - midi out / in - must have correct settings - without it there goes nothing - you have to be online ( not the Internet /only your program! )

b) at the top there you can read ( send all / receive all / bypass ) - you can send now to the RFX unit and you can receive from the unit !

c) if you have opened the program at first there are on the screen two little windows - one named No name1 - and one Memo. When you open the J - patches ( ending .zsf )
there opens a third window named J-patches ( or the name that you have given this zsf - file ). Now you can with drag & drop - left mouse click - transfer only
the patches you need for your Shadows tunes - from the J-patches window to the Noname1 window - that works very well and easy !

Don`t forget to SAVE the NOname1 window with the ending .zsf - and a new name !

Try this step by step - you can find the menue on the top of the programm. Under File you can ( open / save .... ). I think so that you have the English
version too !

IMPORTANT - midi in and out must be routed correctly !

Hi Bojan,

I think J-patches were written for Yamaha and Quads machines, with different formats to the Zoom. I think you will have to convert the different fields in every setting to those in the Zoom unit. What I´d do is to use an excel sheet and compare every field from one to the other and adapt it if needed.
