Anybody know anything about this company?

Nice guitar range, competitive prices, but only direct mail order. I *think* they are Chines-made.

If you look at their "About us" page, you'll see that their guitars come from China, South Korea and Singapore. http://www.skylarkguitars.com/about-us-361-0.html

They've been making entry-level violins and other instruments for decades under that name. You can get a Skylark-branded ukulele in Toys'R'Us for about a tenner.

Hi George,
I bought a mandolin off of these guys a while back, can't quite remember how much I paid but I wasn't happy with the overall quality of the Instrument and so I sent It back. In fairness to the company they did offer a higher spec replacement, I think, for the same price but I decided just not to bother. I did get a refund even though I was short-changed. In the end I just couldn't be bothered to keep chasing them for a few quid.

Their guitars do look nice so If you want to take a punt give them a go. If you're not happy with the quality just return It, only make sure you get a full refund!

Regards,
Bill.

I bought a square-neck resonator

The price included good quality hard case.

I'm pleased with both the instrument and the service I received.

Jim

Amazed that you shop in TrU!!!

Dave / Bill

Thanks for the input. As the Tennessee model has disappeared from the website, I'm having a re-think anyway...

Not any more, but 15 - 25 years ago, we were regulars. I remember buying a Skylark ukulele (as a toy guitar) there for about a fiver.
