New Fiesta Red Fords!

Like many otherss on this forum I've noticed a few new Ford KAs recently, sporting a colour very like Fiesta Red.
Looking on the Ford website, I've discovered it to be one of the standard colours for the KA (the only other red being a darker metallic shade a little like CAR), and it's called SUNRISE.

(Be a bit confusing if they used the name Fiesta for a KA wouldn't it!)

By the way, my own experiments in my garage attempting to mix a nice match fro FR suggest you need to add a lot of yellow, a fair bit of white and even a trace of black (for that 'smoky' efeect) to the red. I forget now what proportions I used but sometime I'll try it again and report back.

Some of the old Austin Allegros' used to be finished in a colour which was almost Fiesta Red - it was called 'Vermillion'.
A few years ago when I sprayed a Strat, I used it as a base colour and found that just mixing in a drop of white, the colour became the correct shade of Fiesta Red as we know it.

Ford Carinval Red (80's?) was reasonably close.

I had a 1976 Ford Capri in Carnival Red which I chose because it looked the same colour as my favourite Strats.

And it had a black vinyl roof....... cool, eh!

Cheers.
