AC 30 Supertwin

I currently throw an eye for a VOX AC 30 Super Twin.
Does anyone have experience with these amps. What
is the current street price approx. ?

Probably about 20 million euros if you go to a certain rip off merchant that has premises in Denmark Street in London!!!!!

I didn`t pay 20 millions and didn`t order in Denmark Street 27 in London. It happened in Germany.
€ 1 200.- for a very clean amp ( without rust and dust in the inside ) is far away from 20....€
and I think a fair trade ! In my life I came only two times in touch with an AC 30 slanted head.

Gratulation to that acquisition. In my book "The vox story" on page 35 or so Dennis stated himself, that it is said, that this is the best sounding Vox Amplifier!
What cabinet do you plan to use it with?

With a VOX 1966 ( JMI ) 2 x 12 extansion cab.

What is the recommendable cab for an AC 30 Super twin. The open or closed JMI vintage 2 x 12 cabinets. Which sounds better.
Where are the differences? Anybody experiences?

Hi Hans

No I've never seen one of these (it is my ignorance probably) but I DO have a VOX AC30 CC2, ex Shadows back-up amp. It was never used by them as their amps kept working, but it was bought by a guy from the factory and I bought it from his widow. It has 3" high Gold writing The Shadows in the bottom left hand corner of the amp.

I use it in company with an Alesis Quadraverb Echo Unit. It is excellent.

Can`t believe that. 3 weeks ago I tested in Germany with a friend all the new VOX range ( 6 - 8 amps)!
My vintage 1969 amp was with me for a real side by side comparison with the same guitar and my ZOOM RFX 2000.
Alll the new VOXes were the loosers the custom classics too.

We were all the same opinion, the owner of the shop, my friend and me and a lot of musicians
and visitors of this real big music - shop.
