I kmow there are several variations on instruments coming out of Fenders Custom Shop.. One offs, Master Builds, Team Builds etc, but who is involved in the Time Machine efforts e.g. a 56 NOS strat?
Are these team efforts... a group overseen by a master builder, or the apprentices ;).
Ive looked the Fender site but it doesnt really give that much info on the is aspect of the Custom Shop business.

BTW heres a clip of John Cruz on the Fender web site talking about minor guitar maintenance.

Not sure I would want to use a rotary tool like he use's on my Strat, did the strings look smoothwound to you.

I can't believe the state of those bridge saddles, the only one I ever owned like that was my first Strat, which was bought second hand in 1964 and the saddles were already rusty.
Since then I haven't experienced it happening on any of mine, though I suppose if the one he is repairing is owned by someone living in California on the coast, it could be the humidity causing it.

Amazing buy a Relic then use a Dremel to turn it into a NOS LOL .Did you notice that the drill lowered the bridge saddles as it cleaned for a nice uneven action
