Do you recognise this body?

Hello all,
I recently purchased this offset body off 'the bay' for a project and wonder if anyone can identify the make.
The seller wasn't able to help. Definitely a Jazzmaster clone trem and what I believe are P90 pickups.
I plan to strip it and have it repainted in my favourite colour - FR, and wll probably add a Mighty Mite neck.
Any help much apreciated.
Cheers,
JB

If there's no cutouts under the upper part of the scratchplate for the rhythm circuit, it could be the body from a Framus Junior De Luxe. I've got one of these, but it needs some serious restoration after the ham-fisted modifications from a certain 16 year old about 36 years ago!

I've got a Framus which looks like a version of the Strato but not on Framus Vintage website

Gentlemen,
Thank you for the info - it certainly has a similar look.
On examining my new body (guitar of course) more closely, I noticed that the shaping for the front and back contours is quite shallow
- not nearly as pronounced as on my Strats.
As it is a very long time since I held a Jazzmaster, would a JM owner please advise if this is the case with a genuine Fender JM.
Thanks in anticipation.

John,

There were quite a few Jazzmaster/Jaguar clones on the market in Australia from the late 1960's onwards, I had one with with a white body, tortiseshell scratchplate, three Jaguar looking single coil pickups an the same knobs as the one in your pic (only three not two). The neck was as good as Fender (rosewood f'board) right down to the imitation Klusons. It also had a variety of micro switches etc, no branding anywhere though. Rumour had it that they came from Japan, possibly the same factory that made the 'Profile' range later on. I'm looking for a pic of it, I'll post it if I find it.
