Best Nut material

Hi All, whats the best replacement nut/material for a USA 62 Ri strat ?. Thanks in advance

Beef bone. Hard bone is what was used at the time, though Fender swapped to plastic some years later (along with several other changes which cheapened and coarsened the Strat, etc).

Synthetic bone called TUSQ is fitted instead of bone by many manufacturers as it is reputed to be more consistent and very simular to bone.

My local Luthier made me one for my Strat from a piece of bone. Followed by the best setup the guitar has ever had. Superb job.

Why dont you replace it with a new Fender vintage nut?
