I don't know about the Brace, Peter, but can unreservedly recommend the Line 6 digital wireless systems which I now use. Expensive but problem-free.

Hi Peter

I had a brief look into these systems to replace my ageing and awfully thin sounding Samson CR77. They seem to have gained some respect for their sound quality throughout the music industry and are being hyped as having a good a sound as a lead.

This youtube video is an OK comparison test.

Thanks for that:-
Lee, I too have seen all the hype but can't find many 'real' reviews on the Brace so i have decided to follow Noel's advice and go with the Line 6

Take care

Peter, the nice thing about the Line 6 is that the jack socket on the transmitter is quarter-inch jack, so that you can use a normal cable/patch cable. It also has a switch which emulates cable length settings (OFF, fifteen feet and thirty feet) though I haven't found any great difference! And, it has six channels.

Cheers

Noel

Thanks for the advice Noel, I have received my G30 this morning and on first try out it seems to be an excellent piece of kit< I will not get the chance to try it with the band until next week but at home ( where I tend to get all the interference possible) it is as good as any cable. I have over the past few years tried many wireless systems ( I hate guitar leads with a passion) but have not found the ideal unit. It certainly looks (sounds) as though this is it.
Take care

I've never regretted buying mine, Peter. I, too, hate cables, and I'm sure going wireless has extended my life-span now that I've stopped tripping over them!

I used to be an "audiophile" and occasionally joined sessions listening to differences between speaker cables! That is past now, but the experience has made me skeptical of wireless systems. Cables are quite a liability on stage though, so this thread has been quite interesting to me. Thank you.

From what you say, Andy, I'm assuming you haven't tried the later digital systems, like the Line 6 and the Brace, which are a major leap forward from the old wireless systems.

I've been giving my new Line 6 system a good testing before using it with the band, I can find no difference to using a cable. I have been trying to make it fail by hiding the receiver under all manner of things and moving the transmitter in other rooms etc etc and it has maintained it's clear sound whatever I do. I am feeling very confident that it will be the end of cables for me.
Thanks for the heads up Noel
Take care
